Cherry Blossoms In Washington D.C.

Gorgeous Cherry Blossoms

I got to go down to Washington D.C. this last week to visit a friend. The visit was the true purpose, but I just happened to time it to be down in D.C. during the peak season for the cherry trees to be blooming, and during their Cherry Blossom Festival.  Unfortunately when I had the chance to go down to the monuments it was a bit of a gloomy and overcast day. But despite that, the trees were still very beautiful. And, fortunately, it cleared up over the next few days and quite frankly there are cherry trees all over the place down there. I also really enjoyed the pear trees and tulip trees, which seemed to be very heavy laden with blossoms this year. Here are a couple of photos from my trip…

More Fun In D.C.

Also while I was down there I got to go watch young Ian Cook, the 6 yr old son of my friend Beth. Ian has just started riding and is leasing an adorable POA (Pony of the Americas). The two of them are unbelievable cute together. Much fuel for the creative juices. I think I see a series of paintings coming on!!
